Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lash Mascara: 60's Twiggy...
Boom Boom Pow! I believe that the right eyeliner and mascara is all the makeup you really need to look AH-MAZING. For this makeup video, I created a Twiggy inspired dolly-eyed look. As a person with monolids, I drew in a crease line to get the effect of deeper-set eyes and finished the look off with Lancome’s new Hypnose Doll Lash mascara on both my top and bottom lashes. This mascara...

Elene Cassis Spring 2012
I love surprises! NYC hottest electric violinist, Sarah Charness opened the show with one of her performances. Her pink violin always tickles my heart. Stylish and sophisticated ladies then graced the runway in cheerful Spring colors. They are timeless designs — perfect for every modern woman who loves a pinch of chic in her wardrobe. More photos are on my Flickr album....

For his fourth season, Rolando took us to Florence, Italy. He also collaborated with Manolo Blahnik on a pair of strappy sandals with ruffle and tassel details! As for the show, the house was PACKED. It’s sort of amazing to see the growth of this amazing designer season after season. More photos are uploaded on my Flickr album, and enjoy the finale video :)

VLOV by QingQing Wu Spring 2012
Inspiration: “This season, I was inspired by the letter V, for both its graphic and graceful simplicity. My color palette is divided into two themes- gray representing introspective elegance along with blue and white representing hope.” -QingQing Wu Another menswear show and it’s a designer from China! Carlos Miele Spring 2012
Inspiration: “Immersive Landscape was born from the idea of immersive artificial environments, which can be created by virtual reality. In a perfect imaginary world, there is perpetual sun - it is all full of vivid colors in bright chemical tones. I seek a dialogue between artificial and natural, modified beauty and organic, technology and life. For this season’s collection, I created...

Lela Rose Spring 2012
“My inspiration for Spring ‘12 is the neon sign graveyards of Vegas and the amusement park vibe of Coney Island. Once so garish and colorful, the Vegas signs are now stacked upon each other with burned-out bulbs and weathered color creating a sea of letters, shapes and interest. The amusement theme of Coney Island — with its electric and playful spirit — are reflected...

I love what’s going on with the hair in this presentation! More art than apparel, the deconstruction, splashes of color, and leather fringes all swirled into one collection, inspired by American football. More images found on my Flickr album :)

Son Jung Wan Spring 2012
Inspiration: Isle of Capri Another brilliant collection from Korean Designer Son Jung Wan! I was pretty excited to see that she was showing again this season at Lincoln Center! Her US debut simply stole my heart — last February. Her sophisticated separates and dresses ruled this runway with a splash of sparkle. Pay attention to the details, because she does. For...

Twoin Spring 2012 Debut
“Discover world beauty, discover self beauty. Experience the world with twin mermaids” A designer friend of mine intro-ed me to these two local designers. When I looked them up online, I really liked what I saw, so here I am at their show. They weaved a fantasy tale of two twin mermaids who wanted to get out of the sea to explore land. They went to two cities; New...

Costello Tagliapietra Spring 2012
This was my only show at Milk Studios. I think I spend way too much time up at Lincoln Center! The duo created pretty warm hued pieces in springy silhouettes. Big bear hugs to them for a brilliant fusion of two seasons :) A quote… “When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else....

Lincoln's Fashion's Night In
For Fashion’s Night Out, I decided to do Lincoln’s Fashion’s Night In, honoring the Accessories Council. I’ve worked with them in the past, so it was a no-brainer to go and support! To my surprise, I bumped into Stella & Dot again, since the Qream event. I got a closer look at their collection, and I am actually currently wearing their snake bracelet as...

Tadashi Shoji Spring 2012
I’m not sure if any of my ooh’s and ahh’s will suffice in saying how much I loved this collection! The inspiration is the tulip. I was taken away into a sunny meadow filled with colorful gardens of tulips and other graceful flowers. The dresses swooshed down the runway all ethereal-like. The last dress (as pictured above)? Stole the show and my breath! For a ton...

United Bamboo Spring 2012
I remember getting to this show was a major pain. The NYC streets was basically in gridlock all day, with so many security checkpoints looking for signs of terror. It literally took me 2.5 hours to get out to the where the show was — Chelsea Piers. To compare, it only takes 20-30 minutes to get out on a normal day. When I finally got there and took my seat, the lights flipped on and...

ARISE Magazine "Made in Africa" Spring 2012...
by Jordanna Stephen I couldn’t have picked a better event to end Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week than by attending the ARISE Magazine S/S 12 Designer Collective show. The show featured seven African designers, all showing that style is universal. The show took place at Avery Fisher Hall, and you can tell that this was THE show to be at. The lines were super hectic, but once you got upstairs it...

Nolcha Fashion Week – Part III (Danilo Gabrielli,...
by blackblondeone It’s here: the final part of the Nolcha Fashion Week! Starting off was Danilo Gabrielli showing men’s and women’s. He presented extremely detailed looks using laser-cut leather, lace, and sequins. It was very edgy and downtown, but with a delicate feel to it. You could tell the pieces had immaculate detailing, finishing, and overall strong quality. The most touching part...

by blackblondeone Are you ready for Part II of Nolcha Fashion Week? This one has some particularly fun pieces, so get ready! It started out with Elizabeth Kosich and her swimwear line. Being a swimmer competitively throughout my school years, swimwear is my weakness. Swimwear to me is as shoes and handbags are to other fashionistas. Her line was full of luxe, shimmering pieces in metallic...

My Jeans Story!
So, when I was younger, and I mean wayyyy younger, I could fit into any jeans I wanted. My curves didn’t kick in and shopping for them was pretty easy. When it did, finding and wearing jeans was a nightmare! The jeans I’ve tried would either fit at the waist but be too loose everywhere else, or fit perfectly on my legs but I couldn’t zip that baby up! I was getting frustrated...

Nolcha Fashion Week – Part I (Carlos Luna, Sarahi,...
by blackblondeone Carlos Luna was the first showing and he did not disappoint. His collection was all about geometric shapes, colorblocking, and sheer, flowing fabrics. It was such a great contrast to have stark, bold colors with the gentle movement of the each piece. Next up was Sarahi, a fashion line with a mix of casual day pieces and luxurious evening looks. The collection was all about...

New York Fashion Week: Day 0 Recap

My Fashionable Career Game Changer...
Ok.. Confession time. I wasn’t always a “style blogger”. Fashion? Beauty? Media? No, it never even crossed my mind as a career choice a few years ago. To understand this, I have to take you back about 5 years-ish, maybe more…errr We’re in high school. My high school. I went to a New York City specialized high school, called Bronx Science. Anyone who knows that...

Jason Troisi Spring/Summer 2012
Does the name Jason Troisi sound familiar to you? He was on season 8 of Project Runway! Last night, I got to sit front row at his show at Exit Art Gallery. He divided his show into 3 Acts — Sub terrain, The Marshlands, and The House. His collection is a reflection of the progression of his growth as designer. He played with textures, colors, silhouettes and styles. A work in...

Money Can't Buy Style!
You absolutely do not need to go for broke to stay on trend and be stylish. I mean, our closets are only so big, right? I like to stick to buying basic key pieces and go crazy on accessories. This means, jewelry, hair pieces, belts and scarves. Honestly, when you play with different accessories, you can change your outfit into a totally different one. I recently went shopping at Kmart and...
